Automobile Quarterly Volume 47, Numbers 1, and 2. Great hardcover books for your collection and just to read for a good time! . See pictures of gorgeous Paul Newman, were all car guys good looking?
See pictures from Shirley's Stable, look at the beautiful Auburns.....alot more good stuff!
I remember the area collector who had quite a few Auburns...he would drive one to the country club and park in the no park zone at the entrance. No one ever suggested he do different. One night I was lucky enough to dine with he and his wife. I just know he had a real slew of cars that he stored in his warehouses. Nice guy and very informative!
I thought I was going to be a car collector when I was young girl , maybe 19 years old. My first collection piece was a 1952 MG TD, red of course with the big fenders and running board. Interestingly there was alot more car action in my life. Cars and the Detroit Auto shows were alot of fun....these books are hard for me to simply sell. I need to read the articles and get a handle on the wonderful history in these books and some of the people I met!
Condition: both books have the owners name on front. ( no it's not Lee Iacocca) no scents, nonsmoking home, no fading, no writing, some order forms still included ( yes I know you cannot order but good part of the history), few inches of light smudges per picture all bindings secure, pictures typical for all unless stated otherwise (please look at notes that may be on pictures), maybe read once, but showing no great wear. Maybe a very slight tiny scrape but nothing major. Books came from one Detroit area collector.
