This is one of the rarer shark species to have originated from what is now Morocco. Living during the Palaeocene, this tooth is approximately 59 Million Years Old. Palaeocarcharodon Orientalis shark teeth can often be easily identified by their wickedly sharp serrations running along the length of the tooth and both side cusps.
