Gatotkaca, also known as Ghatotkacha, is a prominent figure in the Mahabharata and a celebrated hero in Javanese wayang kulit (shadow puppet) tradition. He is the son of Bhima (Bima), the second of the Pandava brothers, and the demoness Hidimbi (Arimbi). Half-human and half-Rakshasa, Gatotkaca possesses immense strength, the ability to fly, and magical powers, making him a formidable warrior in the Kurukshetra war. His most notable contribution was forcing Karna to use his divine weapon, the Vasavi Shakti, which ultimately led to his own death but saved Arjuna's life, turning the tide in favor of the Pandavas.
