About “Imao Keinen”
Imao Keinen(1845-1924) was a painter in Kyoto Japan. He studied ukiyo-e when he was young, studied Japanese painting in the Shijo school Suzuki Hyakunen, and later worked as a Japanese painter. The elaborate bird-and-flower paintings have received high praise in the world, and the “Keinen Kacho Gafu” have won awards at the Chicago World's Fair and the Paris World's Fair..
