EARTHY and organic-looking cube-like bud vase by Otagiri.  This piece of art pottery was made in Japan in the late 70s or early 80s.  It features a speckled glaze of dark brown over beige.  The artist has hand-painted stripes and dots in brown and rust.

Online sources identified it as a bud vase.  It looks a bit like an ink well to me.

It is about 3 1/4 inches tall, 2 1/8 inches wide, with a 1/2 inch opening at the top.  It weighs just 4 7/8 ounces.  On the bottom it has "Japan" stamped.

It is in EXCELLENT Vintage Used Condition -- with no noted problems or defects.

See photos for more details.  For reference, the birch log is 6 inches across. Feel free to ask any questions prior to purchase.
