RARE VINTAGE D. PORTHAULT PARIS PINK & WHITE FLORAL OVERSIZED TWIN COMFORTER BEDDING

Very rare, vintage D. Porthault piece circa 1990's. Designed by the famous French luxury linen company D. Porthault, the original company founded in 1920. D. Porthault was later sold to an American couple Joan and Bernard Carl, philanthropists and socialites who were friends with the founder's. 

The early D. Porthault pieces are highly collectible, especially to D. Porthault purists who are loyal to the original company "House of D. Porthault". The quality of materials used, workmanship and the methodology of the hand screen printing is just amazing. Porthault pieces never age, they remain timeless.

D. Porthault has an enormous celebrity following. Some famous collector's are/ were: Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy, Duchess of Windsor, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Catherine Deneuve, Sir Winston Churchill, Audrey Hepburn and Coco Gabrielle Chanel!

Highly collectible, pink and white floral oversized twin comforter in perfect condition. Both the length and width are oversized. Extremely fluffy with a lot of interior fill. This piece is quite rare because D. Porthault no longer makes comforters, they only sell duvets. The duvets are not as substantial or fluffy as the original comforters. The stitching on this piece is a work of art and creates an intricate motif that blends with the floral pattern. The underside is solid white with the same stitching. Length and width: 102" x 72". 

My French Aunt purchased them directly from Porthault in Paris. Over the years, I sold many of her Porthault pieces on Ebay. Her vast collection gave her great joy throughout the decades. I priced them fairly, despite the rarity. I have seen D. Porhtault sheet sets listed for more than I listed this comforter.
