It's important not to get perfume or lotions on the necklace as the plating can wear away or discolor.  I would suggest cleaning the back of the necklace when you take it off with a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol.  You can also clean the crystals with alcohol by gently wiping them.  Keep it clean and it will last!
