The Viennette 5 is a Silent Super 8 cine camera that was popular in its time. It was made in
The Eumig has automatic exposure control with TTL EE, CdS photocell including exposure compensation.
It has a multicoated Eumig Vario-Viennar f:1.8/F:8-40 mm Lens which has a 5x zoom ratio. There is split image manual focusing and auto or manual zooming. The large knob on the side allows zooming of the lens manually whilst the rocker button adjusts the auto zooming.
It has a single-lens
reflex viewfinder with lockable eye-sight adjuster and information inside the viewfinder shows an f/stop
indicator and under-exposure warning signal.
The red button on the bottom of the camera releases the slider that is used to open or close the aperture by plus or minus one f-stop. There are two cable release openings under a plastic cover that can be accessed when the rear lever is depressed. One of the cable release connections allows film to be exposed one frame at a time for stop motion and animation. The other runs the film normally. The filming speeds are 18, 24fps and single frame.
Everything is in working order, speeds sound correct to the ear, the lens is free from fungus, the bodywork shows only minor signs of use and the battery compartment is free from corrosion.
It is powered by 6xAA batteries (not included) which fit into the battery box cover which in turn is housed in the hand grip.
Comes complete with a Brun Effects Box Compeniumtubus Set of masks for creating effects, Slip-on Eye Piece, Lens Cap, Wrist Strap, a used Super 8 Cartridge and the original Eumig Carry Case with Strap.
