ANTIQUE STOOL
SIZE (cm) 31 high x 33 wide x 33 deep
A small Arts & Crafts Lakes School English Oak Stool c1920s. Although unmarked the quality of craftsmanship, type and thickness of leather and placement attribute this to one one of the ‘Lakes School’ makers. Most likely by Arthur W. Simpson (The Handicrafts, Kendal). The oak has a great colour and grain. The original leather strapping is really thick cut and taken on a wonderful patina. Attractive example of the Arts & Crafts movement taste.
CONDITION overall for its age is very good, there are of course the usual age related scratches and marks. The leather strapping is the original and is strong and firm.
