For sale is a natural blue sapphire bead necklace with a 14k yellow gold clasp. This antique necklace is vibrant and stunning, with two strands of cabochon cut sapphire beads in a classic Victorian-era style. The hand-carved sapphire beads have lovely saturation and translucence. The sapphires are a slightly deeper shade of the classic ceylon blue.
The "rondelle" beads are carved in the shape of slightly flattened spheres. Natural inclusions are visible upon magnification (the French call this a jardin or garden of natural inclusions). The beads are graduated in size, growing larger towards the middle of the necklace.
The necklace has two small natural rubies placed near the center of the longer strand, and a few small peach color coral beads on the shorter strand. The necklace is not knotted. It fastens with a gorgeous filigree gold round tongue in groove clasp. This stunning gemstone necklace will catch every eye. Especially lovely for those with blue eyes!
