Shimano Bantam 350 SG XHS Mag Plus Bait Casting Reel, Model# BMP-350 SG, New in Box, Made in Japan. 

This reel is new-in-box (NIB) / new-old-stock (NOS) and has never been used. The reel is in pristine condition. The box is in very good condition with light age-related wear consistent with storage. This reel was made in Japan. The purchase receipt and warranty card show that the reel was purchased in July, 1986, so it's vintage - almost 40 years old. It is in exceptional collector condition, a true classic from Shimano’s early innovation period.

The "XHS" stands for Extra High Speed. It has a magnetic braking system to allow for precise control of the spool, reducing backlash during casting.

This reel was part of an estate acquired from a fishing equipment collector who bought many things and collected many items without using them. It's now time to distribute so fishermen and enthusiasts can enjoy the contents of this collection. This reel was purchased many years ago and hasn't been out of the box except to look at it and now, to take photos. It's likely that the reel was spooled with the line at a tackle shop when it was purchased, and then stored unused since then. You can still see the crayon markings on the base of the reel, probably the Shimano factory inspector's mark.
