Sami Briss, born in Jassy, Romania, in 1930, is an artist whose work is deeply influenced by the serene landscapes, vibrant frescoes, and rich folklore of his homeland. His artistic journey began with encouragement from his mother, a dressmaker, and continued with studies at the Beaux-Arts of Bucharest.

Throughout his career, Briss has developed a unique symbolic style inspired by biblical themes and Romanian heritage. His works feature motifs such as fish (abundance) and birds (hope), along with a rich palette of blues, pinks, greens, and gold leaf, creating a timeless and magical quality.

Briss’s art often reflects the imagery of ancient temples and his Moldavian roots, seamlessly blending the past with universal themes. Influenced by Paul Klee and Victor Brauner, his paintings celebrate myths, memories, and the beauty of human creativity, ensuring his legacy remains an enduring source of inspiration.
