Genuine Made in Germany VDO part, see pics #4-6.
Dated 7/72 (main speedo) and the fuel gauge is dated 6/72 so probably original to the speedo?
The glass is not in good condition with marks/scratches/muck. Needs to be taken off and properly cleaned but will probably never be perfect?
It was for the range of flat screen beetles dated August 1971 - end of German production (NOT 1303 bugs).
The speedo needle reacts when the input at the back is turned (which it did quite smoothly but would benefit from lubrication), and the mileometer rotates with the 10ths of a mile incrementing as you can see between pics #1+2.
Due to the condition of the glass (visually), selling as for parts or not working = priced accordingly.
One of the mounts for the fuel gauge (see pic #11) has split but a careful gluing and it will be fine.
Good for a budget resto!
Untested further, no warranty.
