Come Unto Me

"The message inherent in the painting Come Unto Me, the original of which was rendered in oil on canvas, is stated in God's own words in Matthew 11:28-30 (Amplified Bible): 'Come unto Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest (ease, relieve, and refresh your soul). Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief, ease, refreshment, recreation, and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good – not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne'."

Artist Biography

About the Artist

Joann M. Reed was born in Pennsylvania in November 1933. While growing up in the Keystone State, Reed nurtured a tremendous feeling of love for the Great Outdoors with her favorite treat being "a walk in the woods" from the time she was old enough to even walk.

After relocating to California in 1963, Joann immediately felt a keen closeness to the ranchlands of the state. Reveling in the feeling of broad expanse in California's rugged scenery, loving the wildness of the oak trees' willful character, delighting in the diversity of both vegetation and terrain, and taking full advantage of California's abundant supply of sunlight and non-prohibitive temperatures, Reed found what her heart had been searching for. From innumerable journeys through oak, redwood, and pine forests as well as grassland, ocean, and desert areas, Joann Reed has evolved her personal way of expressing her reverent and joyous responses to these creations and to their mercifully approachable and loving Creator.

Joann Reed is best known for her iconic picture entitled Come Unto Me which depicts Christ's nail-scarred hands.

This art print will ship flat and fully insured with tracking information via UPS Ground Advantage, and will be carefully and expertly packed between several layers of heavy duty cardboard to ensure safe shipment and storage.
