Es handelt sich hierbei um eine sehr seltene, originale, altkolorierte Kupferstichansicht der Stadt Konstantinopel (Istanbul). Diese wurde bei Frederick de Wit (1629 - 1706) ca. im Jahr 1695 verlegt.

Die detaillierte Abbildung gibt die Stadt mit ihren Befestigungsanlagen und allen bedeutenden Gebäuden wieder. Ergänzt wird das Blatt durch eine lebhafte Schiffs- und Personenstaffage, eine erklärende Legende mit 17 Einträgen und Texte in niederländischer, deutscher, französischer und englischer Sprache. English description: 

This very rare original copper engraving of Constantinople (Istanbul) was published by Frederick de Wit (1629 - 1706) around 1695. It shows an extremely detailed depiction of the city in stunning original colours including all the important buildings, fortifications, numerous sailing ships on the water and persons in the foreground. A key names 17 buildings and explanations in German, Durch, English and French language further enrich the view. The engraving measures cira 41 x 51 cm (plate size) and is in good condition, showing come moderate browning due to age. It was only published in "Theatrum Praecipuarum Totius Europae" by Frederick de Wit, Amsterdam, after 1694. Reference: van der Krogt, Koeman's Atlantes Neerlandici, Vol. IV-2, 1913 Istanbul:44.
