This is an incredibly rare collection of hand-colored art prints meant to educate one on the changing styles of a particular time period. They were printed in Paris circa 1920.
La Mode Feminine de 1845-1870 includes 20 hand-colored fashion illustrations wrapped in a small paper folio.

Please note how small and marvelously detailed these are. each page only measures 3 inches wide and 3 3/4 inches tall.

Condition: Strong, whole, with some dust and a bit of light foxing and staining in places. Overall, the fashion plates are in excellent condition for their size and age.
The folio page which folds in thirds does have some tears and chips. Please examine the photos for full condition.

All 20 original prints are present and included.
This is indeed a very rare find in this condition.

About the Author:
This diminutive printing of this illustrated series is quite possibly the first anonymous printing of a collection later reprinted in 1940 by J.G. PROD’HOMME, known only as the title "Archiviste-Bibliotécaire de l'Opera."The later printing is larger and titled La Toilette Feminine à Travers Les Ages.
