Synopsis:
Takumi Fujiwara, unlike his friends, has little interest in cars and knows next to nothing about the world of car enthusiasts and street racing. As the son of a tofu shop owner, his daily routine involves delivering tofu every morning, navigating the winding mountain roads of Akina. For Takumi, conversations about cars are merely reminders of this monotonous responsibility.

Everything changes when the Akagi Red Suns—a renowned street racing team led by brothers Ryousuke and Keisuke Takahashi—arrive in Akina to challenge its mountain pass. Their goal? To dominate every racing course in the Kanto region and cement their reputation as the fastest team. However, their confidence is shaken when an old Toyota AE86 unexpectedly overtakes one of their top racers during a nighttime drive. The Takahashi brothers soon become intrigued by the mysterious driver, whose exceptional skill and deep familiarity with Mount Akina’s roads make them a formidable unknown force—the legend of the AE86 is born.
