SUNDAY THIRD PAGE COMIC STRIPS

The REDEYE comic strip, created by Gordon Bess,  and 

distributed by King Features Syndicate, was in print from September 11, 1967

 to July 13, 2008.  In 1988, Bill Yates assumed writing duties and Mel Casson

 took over the art.  When Yates left the strip in 1999, Casson added scripting 

to his plate.  Casson manned the strip until he died in 2008, 

at which time the series was retired.
