This nice tramp art box with a hinged top and two tiny drawers was purchased before 1975 perhaps from high-end folk and antique dealers Kelter-Malce, NY. It was signed on the underside by Mahlon S. Stauffer, Ephrata, PA in 1890. It has 3- and 4- layered notched pyramids of thin wood and is probably a sewing box as indicated by the pincushion on top. This pincushion and the interior are both covered with the same red velvet, possibly redone, and the former has changed color somewhat from oxidation. White ceramic knobs open the tiny 3" x 1 1/4" drawers. It is a well designed and blemish-free creation, sans finish. It is about 6 1/2" tall, 10" wide and 7" deep. I do not sell or ship internationally. No returns. Comes with the original documenting notes on paper: (calligraphed) "Tramp Art Original - 1890 Handcrafted and Signed By: Mahlon Stauffer". This is the show that  put tramp art and Fendelman on the map. I don't think this piece was in that show but I've lost my copy of the museum catalog and can't look it up.
