REDKEN Acid-Balanced Men’s Cleanser Soap Bar Full Size 3 OZ VHTF Vintage.

I’m super excited about these cleanser bars! First off, I’m not sure exactly when they were produced, but ingredients weren’t required on beauty product packaging until 1967, so these could be 56+ years old.

Other people who have sold these have been emphatic about these just being collectors items and to not use them, so use at your own discretion.

I’ve been really curious about pH levels in soap recently as I have incredibly dry skin, so when I bought these, I was excited to test their pH considering their age. I love acidified soaps, and it would seem logical for soap companies to make soap more acidified to protect our skin’s slightly acidic mantle, but that is not the case.

I’ve grabbed soap I had on hand and tested them all with distilled water to see the pH levels. Please see all those pictures in this listing. I was so pleasantly surprised when testing the REDKEN Amino-Pon Beauty Bar and REDKEN Men’s Bar (Acid-Balanced Protein)!! They seemed to test between 5.5 and 6, which is the ideal level needed to protect your skin.

These Men’s Bars are in great condition, and this listing is for one bar, full size, at 3 oz. See my other listings for the Amino-Pon Beauty Bars. The box and/or insert may not be perfect, but they are all in great shape and look to have been stored carefully.

None of the pH testing items are included in this listing, but I can include a few test strips with your order if you’d like to try this test at home too. Please make a note when ordering if you’d like some.

UPDATE: I have almost used an entire bar of this soap on myself, and used up the Women’s acidified bar just prior. I must say that when I use this soap, I use it on my face and body, and I could tell immediately that it doesn’t strip your skin like other soaps. On days that I’m not shaving my legs, I don’t need lotion! I know everyone’s skin has different needs, but my go to soap before this was the Lume acidified soap (bars and body wash), and I still needed to moisturize. I still always moisturize my face because that area is just always dry for me, but I’m simply loving this bar soap now! Oh, and both soap bars lather up really well and have just the faintest scent, nothing that I can smell once I’m out of the shower.
