Available is a very rare, original newspaper front page that came from a June 15, 1908 edition of a Chicago American newspaper. This front page contains huge, bold headlines announcing that the White Sox beat Happy Jack Chesbro and the New York Highlanders by a score of 2-1. On the back of the page is a story and picture about a survivor of the Battle of Little Big Horn who now is a North Carolina delegate for the Republican National convention.  Before radio, television and internet, newspapers were the primary mode of communication in the early part of the 20th Century. Big city newspapers like Chicago would print up to ten editions per day to keep the public up to date with the latest news. This front page represents the 8 O'Clock Extra edition. This amazing page would look great framed and displayed as the centerpiece of any vintage sports memorabilia collection.


Condition


This newspaper page is in good condition. However, the page should still be treated as delicate and handled with care upon receipt. This page originally came from a bound library volume and exhibits typical chipping and paper loss on the edges. Additional minor paper loss could occur during shipment.

Domestic Shipping

This newspaper page will be placed in a clear plastic sleeve and gently rolled and inserted into a sturdy cardboard tube. Single newspaper pages can be shipped via First Class Mail. Please specify if expedited Priority Mail is desired. I will combine shipping but additional newspaper pages may require Priority Mail shipping due to total package weight.

I can ship several pages using First Class International Postage. Any additional pages may require Priority Mail International shipping depending on total package weight.
