A McCall Fashions for February 1918.  Published by the McCall Company, New York.  As presented by Scherl’s, Joplin, Missouri.  Not A Copy.

The Quarterly is printed on newspaper stock.  It consists of 12 pages including covers and measures, approximately, 14 x 10 ½ inches.  The covers and pages are tanned, stained, chipped, smudged, torn, rubbed and worn.  Corners have folds.  Edges have chips, tears, and areas gone.  Section on the front cover’s lower right that looks like the catalog was used as a cushion for a pattern wheel.  The catalog had been folded in half at some point.  These are large sheets of newspaper stock, folded in half and assembled.  No staples, and if there was glue, it is virtually non-existent. 

No ink, pencil, or notes that I saw.

The front has suggestions of what to wear to visit the camp.  Inside are American Red Cross patterns to sew for the relief of refugees and repatriates in the war-stricken countries.  Patterns for hospital garments.  And McCall’ conservation patterns.  The back cover has a Kaumagraph for soldier’s money belts.

The magazine cannot be shipped media mail as it is against postal policy to use media mail for anything with advertising…and the USPS does not care if the advertising is old.
