The plant that I ship is about 10 in tall

Piper betle, known as Betel or Sireh is a climbing vine with glossy, heart-shaped leaves. This plant is usually cultivated for its leaves where in some countries, they are chewed with slaked lime and in some others, they are used as traditional herbal medicine or for prayers.

Betel Leaf, or Piper betle, is a subtropical vine in the same family as black pepper and kava. It thrives in the shade and does best when given a stake or trellis to climb. The plant features attractive, heart-shaped leaves with a glossy texture, which make it an excellent addition to your garden or indoor spaces.

It has a slightly peppery taste and is often used in Southeast Asian cuisine to wrap food or to add flavor to dishes. For optimal growth, be sure to place your Betel Leaf plant in a partially sunlit location and keep the soil moist.

Climate
Grows naturally in humid subtropical and tropical climates, generally areas with annual lows of 19 to 25°C, annual highs of 27 to 35°C, annual rainfall of 1300 to 5000 mm and a dry season of 4 months or less.

Betel pepper is also cultivated with irrigation and shade in dry areas, such as in Thanjavur, in Tamil Nadu, India, which receives only 940 mm annual rainfall and has a dry season of up to 7 months.

Growing
Only male plants are cultivated, as female plants lack vigour and are susceptible to disease. Therefore, fertile seed are not readily available. New plants usually start from cuttings of six to eight nodes taken from two-year-old plants.

Performs best on free-draining clay-loam, loam and sandy-loam soils enriched with well-rotted manure, and adjusted to a moderately acid to neutral pH, generally in the 5.5 to 7.5 range. Planting sites need light shading and staking, or trellising is essential for good vine growth and leaf production. Betel pepper vines have poor tolerance to slow-draining, waterlogged and saline-alkaline soils.

Fertilizer that I include as an option is an excellent choice for professional growers or nurseries if you grow plant in a pot. I personally use it for all my plants. It has polymer coating to allow slow release during 8-9 months evenly. You don't have to worry about repotting the plant for about 1 year or worry about burning plant with your regular over the counter fertilizer. You need about 3-4oz per 3 gal pot or 4-5oz per 5 gal pot.
