Uranium glass is a fascinating creation enriched with a touch of uranium dioxide, typically around 2%, which imparts its unique color. When exposed to UV blacklight, this uranium content bestows a captivating fluorescent effect, causing the glass to radiate a vivid and vibrant green glow. This enchanting phenomenon arises from the unique allure that uranium dioxide brings to the glass, resulting in a stunning visual experience that surpasses other glassmaking techniques. Uranium glass does carry a small, trace amount of radioactivity, occasionally detectable using a Geiger counter. But rest assured, this level of radioactivity is minuscule and does not pose harm when being worn or handled.
