RARE & COLLECTIBLE 1987/1988s Pre-Serial Germany Model
Brief History of this Special Pen:
1987/1988 was the last year of the pens without any serial number on clips. In 1988~1989 Montblanc started putting W-Germany on the clip which lasted only for couple of years. That was also the era when Montblanc introduced 1st ever serial numbers on their clips (early 6 digit serials). It was the last year when Montblanc used the two-tone 14k nibs, last year of plastic threaded pistons and also the last year of split ebonite Feed to be used before discontinuing them permanently (After that from 1990s Montblanc removed the "W" from "W. Germany" and started putting 7 digit serials on the clip, started Tri-Tone 18k Nibs and also started the modern plastic feed which still continue).
That all make this transitional 149 fountain pen very special. On top, the pen comes with the 1987s Box, case, booklet and card; what a wonderful opportunity to have a complete set
