For sale is an unusual English Royal commemorative Copeland pottery whisky bottle from the coronation of George V in 1911.  The bottle stands 8 inches tall and is 4 1/4 inches in diameter at the base.  It is made of stoneware with a tan base glaze and forest green around the body and neck.  It has applied white sprigging of the king and queen in flags on one side, and the arms of Great Britain on the reverse.  I also has sprigs of the four flowers around the neck.  The tan shoulder area is printed “Coronation / of / King George V & Queen Mary / June 22, 1911” on one side and “Andrew Usher & Co. / Distillers Edinburgh” on the other.  The bottom has a molded band and a low rounded foot.  It is marked “COPELAND / late  /SPODE” on the foot; it is also stamped “ENGLAND”  and “COPELAND” in the clay

Condition on the piece is fairly good.  There are a couple of small rim chips and some discoloration inside the neck, but no other damage.  A great cross-collectible bottle!
