DESCRIPTION:
Is your car too loud? Install some butyl sound deadener and drive in peace. Reduce vibrations coming through your car panels. Perhaps your infant will now be able to sleep in the back seat.
All you need is a blade or heavy-duty scissors to cut your sound deadening material into the right shape. Line it up and measure it perfectly to the edge of the door.
Just peel the wax paper backing off and press your sound deadening insulation directly onto your car frame. It will stick without any extra products needed. No messy tar or glue.
Make sure the temperature of the surface is between -15°C to 60°C. Clean off the panelling and make sure it is dry. Measure and cut the sheets. Press down firmly. Done. Put the car back together now.
Form a tight seal on the panels of your car. Perfect for protecting the surface from rust and moisture. Just make sure you follow the instructions for the sound deadening insulation because replacing it will be a pain.

Advantages of butyl rubber
- Thermal stability
- Butyl rubber has excellent heat stability. Sulfur-vulcanized butyl rubber can be used for a long time in air at 100℃ or slightly lower temperatures.
- Electrical performance
- The electrical insulation and corona resistance of butyl rubber are better than those of other common synthetic rubbers. The volume resistivity is 10-100 times higher than that of general rubber, the dielectric constant (1kHz) is 2-3, and the power factor (100Hz) is 0.0026.
- Chemical stability
- The high saturation structure of butyl rubber gives it high chemical stability. Butyl rubber is particularly resistant to animal and vegetable oils. It has good corrosion resistance to most inorganic and organic acids.
- Low temperature
- Although there are more methyl groups in the molecular chain of butyl rubber, each pair of methyl groups distributed on both sides of the spiral is staggered by an angle, so the butyl rubber molecular chain is still quite smooth. It has a lower glass transition temperature and better elasticity.
- Air permeability
- The densely-arranged lateral methyl groups in the butyl rubber molecular chain limit the thermal movement of polymer molecules. Therefore, it has low permeability and excellent airtightness.
- Water absorption
- Butyl rubber has very low water permeability. Its water absorption rate at room temperature is lower than that of other rubbers, only 1/10-1/15 of the latter.
- Energy absorption
- The molecular structure of butyl rubber lacks double bonds, and the distribution density of methyl group in the side chain is relatively high, so it has good vibration and impact energy absorption characteristics. The springback characteristics of butyl rubber under a wide temperature range (-30--50℃) are not more than 20%, indicating that butyl rubber's mechanical property absorption is superior to other rubbers.
- Ozone resistance and weather aging resistance
- Due to the high saturation of its molecular chain, butyl rubber demonstrates exceptional ozone resistance and weather aging resistance, which is 10 times greater than that of dry natural rubber.
INSTALLATION
1.Decide what part of the car you want to insulate first:roof,floor,doors or a hood.
2.Remove the remains of the factory insulation once you have dismantled the interior.Properly clean and degrease the surface prior to installation of deadener.
3.Measure the pre-cleaned surface of the prospective spot that you are going to treat.
4.Try to locate the piece of material onto the prospective surface of a car without removing an adhesive paper.When your sheet is ready to used,lay that down to the surface and let is glue.Flatten the sheet with hands to avoid air bubbles between the metal and insulation material.Use a roller for rolling down the foil as a neat step.
Installation Notices
Please clean the surface you want to paste.
Make insulation materials and sheet metal firm fit,and play best adhesive,damping performance.
Paste soundproof or damping plate,you could heat with a hair dryer to make it soft,then compacted by hand.If the room temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius first with sun lamp heating it until soft.Then remove the wax paper and paste.
It would be best to wear the gloves when working.
