General Information

Who are we?

Founded in 2016, The Speaker Port is a small, independently owned/operated business based in the suburbs of Chicago, IL.  We specialize in repairing/restoring vintage audio speakers and stereo systems/components.  We also service/repair home, auto and professional grade systems (PA systems, guitar amps, etc).  We work on all components types (receivers, turntables, tape decks, power amps, etc.), makes and models. We also offer lines of aftermarket/reproduction parts using 3D CAD design and printing technology. 

Pricing

If you have ever sold anything online, you know that for everything you sell, eBay, Bonanza, Etsy, etc takes a cut from your sale. They can also takes money from the cost of shipping too. Annual costs associated with the site make it even worse. On top of that, add on the percentage PayPal wants and as a result…you just lost a significant percentage f you overall sale. In order to sell products, you need to price competitively and fairly.  In addition, we have families to feed so we cannot afford to give things away either.  Please consider this when evaluating the price we set.  

Shipping

·         All paid for items typically ship within 1 business day, however, we have a higher handling time defined in the event that an unforeseen issue comes up that prevents us from being able to ship immediately (such as weather related issues.)

·         Any item we charge shipping costs for are fairly priced based.  They take into consideration the materials necessary to secure/protect your item in transit. We use new boxes and packing when possible.  The total cost of shipping must take into account our costs for these materials, the actual shipping cost charged by USPS or FedEx.  We will never charge ridiculous, overprices shipping charges for any reason. 

·         As noted above, any listing we have that comes with ‘Free Shipping' does not mean there is no cost associated with shipping the product.  Most, if not all of our “Free Shipping” items are shipped USPS First Class (where we can predict the cost to any location domestically). On average, our cost to ship such items range from $3-$4.  Please keep this in mind when evaluating the cost of our product to others.

·         Unless otherwise specified in the listing, we do not insure any item in transit (beyond whatever the shipping provides as default…if any) nor do we add addition features such as signature requirement.  If you want an item shipping with such additional features, it is your responsibility to ask for it and there will be additional costs associated with them.

• If an item offered to ship internationally on eBay, then it will be enabled in the listing via the eBay Global Shipping Program. If it is offered on other sites such as Bonanza or Etsy, then it will ship in a manner that provide full end to end tracking and insurance at the buyers cost. If we chose to offer shipping internationally without these two services, the buyer assumes full responsibility for safety of the item.  In other words, we are NOT in any way responsible for it’s that get lost or damaged in shipping.  Furthermore, the Buyer is fully responsible for purchasing a replacement at their cost.

Warranty and/or product guarantee 

·         Unless specifically statement in the list, there is no warranty or guarantee of any kind associated with the item you are buying. We have no way of knowing how much use it had before coming into our possession.  Please consider this before buying.

• Any used/refurbished/restored item we sell is tested and verified to be in working condition before we list/sell the item.  Any issues or problems will be clearly stated in the listing. This includes physical, electrical or operational condition. Regarding physical condition, we provide detailed pictures in our listing so please pay attention to them.  We will not be describing every scratch/scuff/ding that may exist. Note: any statements made about things like sound or picture quality or value are completely the opinion of The Speaker Port and in no way represent a guarantee or statement of fact.
• For any NEW, 3^rd party products that are still sealed in their original OEM packaging are assumed to be in perfect working condition.  We will not open these packages to test them or evaluate their contents for any reason. The Speaker Port assumes no responsibility for the operational condition of such items and are offered “as-is”.

Fraud Prevention

Unfortunately, there are folks out there that try to commit fraud/steal products/parts from us.  As a result, we have had to make some tough choices about how we do business online. The Speaker Port implements a number of methods to ensure that products do not get tampered with and false claims made against us.  Such methods include photo documents, UV tagging (marking) and tamper proof labels to name a few.

Misc Terms and Conditions

Unless otherwise specified above, the following terms and conditions apply.  If you have a question about one of our items that is not answered above or below, please reach out to us. Your bid means that you have read, understood and agree to all the items listed below.

• Many things can happen during the preparation of an item for shipment. In these extremely rare circumstance (where we have no spares to replace it with), we will offer you a comparable replacement or refund you your purchase (at your choice).
• We reserve the right to cancel any bids from users with zero (or negative feedback rating) at our discretion. 
• Unless otherwise stated in the listing, all sales are final. If you have a question about the listing, we welcome you to send us a message about it, but please do so before bidding and/or winning an item.
• We have a 100% positive feedback rating for a reason. We do business in an honorable and respectable manner. It serves us no purpose to cheat or mislead any Customer. We are committed to your satisfaction…if you have ANY issue with something we have sold, please contact us directly first in order to resolve the matter.
