A hand carved German man who appears ready to party maybe at a Beer Fest. He's all decked out in his German black Hat with white feather on it. He has brown hair and a red nose (possible too much drinking already). He's wearing a jacket which appears to be green in the front and brown in the back with a white/cream colored collar. Look at his outstanding very large mustache.
He measures 3" which is from the top of his hat to the bottom of his cork. The core is short about 1/2" but that's the way it has always been.
The picketers tell the story. I have looked and looked and have not seen any other bottle stoppers like this with a hat and feather on it.
