This is a lovely porcelain antique Chinese teapot with a gently scalloped base. It was made between about 1880 and 1890 and is hand decorated with beautifully wrought ladies in period costume. The top trim color is teal and the handles a nice soft pink. In addition, there is a lot of gold painted trim and the flowers all feature raised white dot enameling.

There is little evidence of wear and no chips anywhere.  There is however, an old tight hairline running about 1 1/2 inches from the top.  It is not visible on the exterior but can be seen and felt on the inside.  The lid and handle are excellent and the glaze is perfect.  This piece dates from the late 1800's and has the typical bluish cast to the ground that further identifies it as Chinese.  It is 6 3/4 inches high.  

Overall, this is a beautiful piece with exceptional painted details.
