Ensign 220 Auto-Range Medium Format Folding Rangefinder Camera 6x6 As Is Rare.
Shutter and aperture working, though shutter has not been tested for accuracy.
Expect bellows to have some pinholes, and also one larger light leak near the front. At some point, the original lens was replaced with an early Zuiko lens, which may be better than what came on the camera originally. Ensign Epsilon shutter still present (has some paint chipped - see photos).
Camera sometimes latches closed fully, but most of the time, I can’t get it to. It will ship in open position, but very securely packed. It seems like whatever is preventing it from closing is an easy fix, but I can’t pinpoint what the issue is. When I purchased this camera, it closed every time, so something probably just came loose.
Some wear to body consistent with age. Some leather grain is smoothed, there are some minor dents and scrapes, but nothing serious. Leather handle still sturdy. Red window, sliding cover, and dual format sliding mechanism all present and working.
With a little love, this would make a nice, useable camera. High end English construction from the 50s, and this camera has seen a lot. It’s definitely got character.
Sold exactly as shown and described. Because of stated issues, this is an as-is sale with no returns.
