The BTR 225 Camshaft is a great choice for those wanting a more aggressive sounding idle than the 220 cam, while still being capable of daily driver use. While it can be used with the stock converter, a higher stall converter is recommended for best performance in truck/SUV applications.

When used in L86 truck applications, the versatile BTR Gen V 225 camshaft provides excellent mid range torque along with exceptional power up to redline. This cam will provide great all around power along with a noticeable idle that grabs your attention. If you plan on using your truck for work or towing however, we would recommend the slightly milder BTR 220 camshaft.

For our LT1 customers the added induction really helps the Gen V 225 cam shine in the horsepower department. This cam makes excellent midrange and top end horsepower, to the tune of over 600hp, all the while providing smooth power and drivability for use in your daily driver or weekend toy.

This unit is the culmination of extensive Spintron testing, coupled with thorough vetting on BTR's Superflow Engine Dynamometer. Countless hours have been spent designing some of the most stable, powerful lobes in the industry. All this translates into better longevity, less valve train wear and tear, and more power.

To take advantage of this grind, it is imperative to utilize VVT control when tuning. A proper calibration in this respect will make this camshaft SHINE! All BTR Gen V camshafts come with VVT Target Angle table specs on the cam card, making it easy to quickly dial in the VVT function for the best powerband possible.

NOTE: The 225 Camshaft requires a DOD/AFM lifter delete, and a 4* VVT Phaser limiter block is necessary to maintain proper piston to valve clearance.

Camshaft Only: This listing is for the BTR Gen V 225 Camshaft by itself (please remember a valve spring upgrade and a phaser limiter are necessary for installation).
