EARLY Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta 530/2 6x9 Carl Zeiss Tessar 4.5/10.5cm As Is Read.

The serial number on the Compur Rapid shutter (4,022,XXX) dates to 1933-34 from what I was able to see online. This would make this one of the earliest runs of 6x9 Super Ikonta. Outside shows signs of use and some paint loss, shutter is inconsistent and would benefit from a CLA, and the focus feels tighter than it should (again, a good CLA would fix this). Strap is broken on top, and could use a replacement or removal (I’ll leave that to the buyer to decide).

Bellows look good, but I have not tested for pinholes.

Glass looks nice and clear. There are what look like a couple blemishes in the front elements, but they are actually tiny bubbles that will not affect picture quality (in the front elements, things like this will be so out of focus and diffused that they will not be visible). This is fairly common in handmade lenses of the age. The rear elements look flawless.

With a little work, this could be a nice, useable camera again, or it would make a nice display example of a very early Super Ikonta.

If you have any questions, or if I have anything incorrect, feel free to let me know.
