Lot of 2 Album of Snapshots from travel during 1951-1953 titled "Voyages to Italy and Other Mediterranean Lands" and "Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Cyprus". Each hardcover album measures 9 1/2 x 6 3/8 inches. The Turkey + album has 60 color and b&w photos; the Italy + album has 81 color and b&w photos plus an S/S NEA Hellas postcard inside the rear cover. The group sailed on the M/V Italia and then the SS NEA Hellas.
The group included a number of Fulbright Scholars in the field of Classical Studies and Architecture, i.e., Norman Arthur Doenges, Virginia Merz Besl etc. In addition to photos on ship, there are a large number of historical and architectural shots. All photos have neatly printed descriptions and all of a random group removed from corners have date and/or description on reverse.
Thank you.
