Maria Joao Ribeiro
Festival in Rio (descriptive title)
Oil on canvas
Listed dimensions: 13 × 9.5 in. (33 × 24.1 cm)
Undated
Catalogue note
A lively festival scene brings together musicians in striped shirts and dancers in brightly coloured costumes. Rows of hillside houses frame a blue bay, while the figures form successive bands across the vertical composition. The flattened perspective and rhythmic repetition of hats, instruments and gestures give the scene its distinctive narrative character.
Artist note
The work is catalogued under Maria Joao Ribeiro. A handwritten inscription on the reverse includes the artist's name and “Rio.” Verified biographical details have not been supplied; no birth dates, exhibition history or institutional affiliations are asserted here.
Condition and documentation
The photographs show surface wear and irregularities along the painted edges. Please request a current condition report and confirmation of the listed dimensions. The existing gallery listing states that export permission is included; this documentation is distinct from a certificate of authenticity.
Shipping
Worldwide shipping via DHL International. Estimated delivery: 7–9 days.
Digital display illustrations
The white-background presentation and private-gallery interior are digitally prepared illustrations, not condition photographs. The interior shows approximate scale based on the listed dimensions. Original photographs remain the reference for the work's surface and condition.
