This original four page sports section came from a March 8, 1927 edition of a Chicago Herald and Examiner newspaper. The front page contains a great collage of photos showing how Chicago White Sox Pitcher, Ted Lyons, grips the baseball to throw his famous knuckleball. The front page also contains two interesting stories. One story describes how 80 yer old Thomas Edison hit a baseball pitched by Ty Cobb that almost hit him in the head only days after joining the Philadelphia Athletics for spring training. The other story describes a tongue in cheek exchange between New York Yankees manager Miller Huggins and reporters on Babe Ruth's chance of making the team and his new $70,000 per year salary.
