This original 4 page sports section came from an August 29, 1935 edition of a Chicago Tribune newspaper. The front page contains a large bold banner headline announcing that 85,000 fans will watch the College All-Star game between college players and the Chicago Bears. On page 20 of the section is the complete roster of the College All-Americans that includes future President Gerald Ford representing the University of Michigan. The pages measure 17" x 23". The Chicago Tribune used high rag content paper which results in the excellent condition and whiteness of the pages.
The Chicago Charities College All-Star Game was a preseason American football game played from 1934 to 1976 between the National Football League (NFL) champions and a team of star college seniors from the previous year. It was also known as the College All-Star Football Classic. The second game, played in 1935, involved the hometown Chicago Bears, runner-up of the 1934 season, instead of the defending champion New York Giants. The inaugural game in 1934, played before a crowd of 79,432 on August 31, was a scoreless tie between the All-Stars and the Chicago Bears. The following year, in a game that included University of Michigan graduate and future president Gerald Ford, the Bears won 5–0.
Condition
These newspaper pages are in very good condition. However, the pages should still be treated as delicate and handled with care upon receipt. These newspaper pages originally came from a bound library volume and may exhibit slight chipping and paper loss on the edges. Additional minor paper loss could occur during shipment.
Domestic Shipping
The pages will be placed in a clear plastic sleeve and gently rolled and inserted into a sturdy cardboard tube. Single newspaper pages can be shipped via First Class Mail. Please specify if expedited Priority Mail is desired. I will combine shipping but additional newspaper pages may require Priority Mail shipping due to total package weight.

I can ship several pages using First Class International Postage. Any additional pages may require Priority Mail International shipping depending on total package weight.
