This commemorative 2 Hryvnia coin honors the 240th anniversary of the birth of Petro Prokopovych (1775–1850), the inventor of the world's first movable-frame beehive and a founder of rational apiculture in Europe.
Petro Prokopovych designed the hive frame as an independent movable element, enabling beekeepers to harvest pure honey without harming or destroying the bee colony. His revolutionary invention marked a major milestone in the history of global agriculture and beekeeping science.
