Wireless Remote Adapter for
Tascam 52 or 58 reel to reel decks

I've been making wireless remote adapters since 1992 with more than 800 units shipped worldwide. I am an electrical engineer and started making unit for Nakamichi cassette decks for people on the NakTalk email list. Over the years my customers have asked me to make similar units for other models and brands of audio gear. I now make over 15 models of remote adapters for 10 different brands (Aiwa, Akai, Ampex, Crown, Denon, Nakamichi, Otari, Revox, Sony, Studer, Tandberg, Tascam, Teac and Technics). I typically sell through eBay, but, low volume models are only sold direct. If you don't see a remote adapter for your equipment ask me, I might have one already.

This unit works to control the transport functions on the deck just like the Tascam RC-50 wired remote. It plugs into the 56-pin ELCO REMOTE connector on the back of the Tascam 52 or 58 tape decks. It allows the 6 standard transport functions: play, stop, pause, record, fast forward and rewind plus RTZ (return to zero) to be controlled from across the room. This unit can be controlled by any universal remote on the market not just the one supplied. Just set it for one of the Sony VCR button codes.

Includes a 3 in 1 Universal Remote which I load with batteries and program it to work with the remote receiver so you can be up and running in minutes.

This unit can be programmed, via a set of internal jumpers, to 1 of 4 remote codes (Sony VHS, Sony Beta, Sony 8mm and Sony Laser Disc Player). This allows multiple units to reside in the same room and be independently controlled.
