Betadine Dry Powder Spray Antiseptic Wound Infection 55g Povidone Iodine 2.5

Betadine Dry Powder Spray provides a pressurised aerosol spray containing: Povidone iodine 2.5% w/w. Antiseptic for the treatment and prevention of infection in wounds including ulcers, burns, cuts and other minor injuries. It delivers a microbicidal mist for wounds too tender to touch. It saves time and is indicated whenever effective microbicidal skin de-germing can be applied more conveniently with a spray.

• For treatment of skin infections.
• For prevention of infections in wounds, burns, cuts, scratches and abrasions
with germicidal effects.

Directions for use
Adults and children over 2 years: shake can before use, spray
the required area from a distance of 15-25cm (6-10 inches) until a dusting of powder is deposited.
If necessary, cover with a dressing.
Not for use in children under the age of 2.

Ingredients
2.5% povidone-iodine

Warnings
• For external use only.
• Do not use in the eyes, over large areas of the body, or if you are sensitive to iodine or other product ingredients.
• Ask a doctor before use in case of deep or puncture wounds, animal bites, or serious burns.
• Stop use and ask a doctor if the condition persists or gets worse or if you need to use this product for more than 1 week. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Side Effects
The following side-effects have been associated with people having this medicine:
• local irritation or sensitivity reactions – stop using this medicine if you get these type of reactions

• Metabolic acidosis, kidney problems, and thyroid problems – these usually only happen if this medicine is used for a long period of time on a large area of broken skin

• Side effects with this product are rare. Should you have any concerns or feel you are experiencing any side effects related to this product then please contact your GP or our pharmacy team.
