Extraterrestrial peridot is extracted from rare pallasitic meteorites, in this case one that impacted in Kansas and known as the Admire meteorite. Most pallasitic meteorites are fractured and don’t yield large stones that can be faceted. The Admire meteorite is one of the few that contain unfractured stones. Pallasitic meteorites originate from colliding planetoids between Mars and Jupiter over 4 billion years ago near the time of the creation of our solar system.
1/3 Ct Extraterrestrial Peridot In Platinum Ring Setting. Only 1% of Pallasitic meteorites contain large enough stones that can be faceted as this one, making it one of the rarest gems. It’s an unknown gem as it was recently added to recognized gems by the international societies. For this reason it has strong investment possibilities for increasing in value. These rare meteorites are a finite quantity until another one is discovered or makes impact.
