"After 20 years in the trade, I’ve seen more pumps fail due to low oil and overheating or running dry than almost anything else. These gauges are cheap insurance. When installing, ensure your tank wall is no thicker than 8 mm. If you’re mounting this on a custom tank, use a stepped drill bit for the cleanest holes to ensure the NBR seals seat perfectly against the tank wall."
