Vintage Hakata Japanese bisque ceramic and hand painted from the mid1950s. This one is of a woman grinding soybeans. These were originally bought as souvenirs by American soldiers at the end of the Korean War. They gained admiration in the states and were later marketed in a few stores. There was a base in Hakata, Japan where they were made. This statue is 7” tall and is in very good condition. Please see all photos. Carefully packed for a safe shipment from a smoke-free home.
