BLACK SOAP RECIPE: Water, Virgin Palm Kernel Oil, Bark of the Shea Tree, Leaves of Plantain Plant, Cocoa Pods and/or Plantain Skin Ashes, and Unrefined Raw Shea Butter for an all-natural cleansing process. Plantain skins are largely what make this soap so effective. It is a natural source of vitamins A & E and iron.
SIDE NOTE: The longer the plantain skins are roasted the darker the soap is, but the soap is never completely black in color. Black Soap from Ghana: The colors vary from light tan brown to brown and dark brown. Black Soap from Nigeria: The color varies from dark brown to near black, but never completely black.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: To prolong the shelf life of the natural black soap, keep it in a cool and dry location. After using your black soap in the shower you can then store it in an air-tight container or zip-lock bag in a cooler and drier section of the house.
