Skew Chisel Sharpening Jig

I am a Welder/Fabricator and I make these tools myself. All sturdy steel construction finished in satin black paint. Skew sharpening is now easier, accurate and repeatable with my adjustable jig.

This is item is sold as a standalone sharpening jig with a sliding bar and base unit. what you are buying is in picture 2.

Bolt the jig base directly under your preferred grinder wheel, lock your sliding bar in place with the handwheel, sliding bar is 580mm long to accommodate your longest skews. 

With the grinder stationary put chisel handle in left v pocket with chisel leading edge on right, adjust the sliding arm in or out to give desired sharpening angle on wheel, lock the bar in place with the handwheel on the base unit. 

Lift your chisel and start machine, gently touch chisel edge on grinding wheel one or two times then put skew handle in right v pocket with chisel leading edge on left, Repeat above as necessary to give you a sharp equal edged skew. You will find that sharpening this way is faster with less material taken off the tool and you will have a constant sharp single bevel edge grind.
