The card quality you will receive is that as pictured, retained in its protective plastic sleeve, and in my own opinion and per the card quality guide below, considered as near mint (NM) condition. This card is from my own very large personal collection where the large majority of cards have been pulled fresh from a pack by myself. Due to the amount of duplicate cards I have pulled from packs, I cannot guarantee this is freshly pulled.

As a collector with no affiliation to any professional card grading associations, nor access to any of the specific inspection equipment they require, I cannot deem a card to be of mint condition. This does not however mean that a card I sell is not considered mint, only that I myself can't advertise as mint condition.

I therefore ask that in addition to the card quality guide below, that you study the pictures provided to ensure the quality of the card is what you expect. I am more than happy to support the quality claims made in this description with additional pictures on request.

Upon receiving your card, if you are unhappy about your purchase or have any issues, please contact me so we can resolve the issue. Please ensure packaging is retained as best as possible and do not remove the card from its protective acid-free sleeve.

The below guide is not only for the ease and clarity of communicating my own card quality, but to improve the overall experience of purchasing Pokemon cards on Ebay.

Card Quality Guide

Before I list card condition descriptions, here are some things to consider when evaluating card condition:

1. Not all cards pulled from a pack are Near Mint. Cards can be opened that have markings or damage, inking inconsistency or factory defects.

2. Manufacturing quality faults are widely known and are often expected with freshly pulled cards from the packet, the cause being dull cutting blades. This is identified by white edging around the card, most often found at the back due to the cutting direction.

3. A 1st edition Pokemon Card features the 1st edition image at the bottom left corner of the image on the card. If a card doesn't have this, it's not 1st edition.

4. Base Set 1 Pokemon Cards  do not feature shadowing around the image, this was introduced in later sets.

5. Do not consider a card to be of Mint Condition unless it has been graded by a recognized card grading company i.e. PSA

Near Mint (NM) - Cards in Near Mint condition show minimal to no wear from shuffling, play or handling and can have a nearly unmarked surface, crisp corners and unblemished edges outside of a few minimal flaws. A Near Mint card may have a tiny edge nick or a tiny scratch or two, but overall look nearly unplayed with no major defects or flaws.

On foil cards (Shiny) wear and blemishes are more easily noticed. As a result, grading NMFs is fairly simple: They canʼt have any scratches, clouding, print defects or visible damage or marks. Near Mint Foils are nearly pristine cards because itʼs the most scrutinized card condition.

Lightly Played (LP) - Cards in Lightly Played condition may have minor border or corner wear or even just slight scuffs or scratches. There are no major defects such as water damage, bends or issues with the structural integrity of the card. Noticeable imperfections are okay, but none should be too severe or at too high a volume.

Lightly Played Foils show minimal shuffle wear and very few surface flaws. Any flaws such as scratches are very slight, and no major imperfections or flaws should exist. Scratches in the art box tend to be more noticeable and factor more heavily than other flaws. Foils in Lightly Played condition may also have slight fading or signs of wear or slight warping.

Moderately Played (MP) - Cards in Moderately Played condition exhibit condition issues visible at a casual glance. Cards in Moderately Played condition can have border wear, corner wear, scratching or scuffing, creases or whitening, minor dirt buildup or any combination of mild examples of these marks.

A Moderately Played card may have some form of a more major marking, such as spot water damage or creasing that doesnʼt affect card integrity, but not in combination with other issues such as scratches, scuffs or border/edge wear and not impacting a large area of the card.

Warping, clouding, scratching and a little flaking are all fine on Moderately Played Foils (MPFs). They are also allowed to have minor border wear. As long as there are no major defects, these minor flaws are okay on MPFs.
