Vivitar 636AF Auto Focus flash for Nikon 35mm AF Film Cameras . The flash is in excellent minus to very good condition, the body shows some wear, all functions seem working correctly, includes original manual.

Vivitar 636AF Ni electronic flash unit was designed for Nikon auto focus 35mm film cameras. It is equipped with a flexible head (330° of rotation, 90° of elevation), which can be adjusted for the focal length of the lens in increments (28, 35, 50 and 85 mm). An AF auxiliary light for better AF performance in low lighting conditions is also built-in, which functions in TTL mode only. Power is supplied by four AA batteries (sorry batteries are not included with the flash).

Although primarily intended for TTL metering, there is a manual mode with full or 1/16 power output available. Here, correct exposure is achieved by selecting the appropriate combination of film speed, distance to subject, lens aperture and focal length as indicated by the control panel and flash head respectively.
