Ink Option Information

Dye Ink : Dye ink is the most common choice of ink.  It is cheap and great for printing photos as it produces bright vivid prints. They are also less likely to block printheads as they are completely soluble.  The negative attributes of dye ink is that they tend to bleed a little on plain paper and fade quite quickly when exposed to UV light or high humidity conditions

Pigment Ink: Genuine Epson OEM ink cartridges are pigment ink in these printers.  Pigment ink is archival and does not fade like dye inks, also it produces razor sharp text compared to dye (much like a laser printer).  The negative aspect of pigment inks is that they block print heads much more easily than dye inks and because they form bubbles on the surface of photo papers they reflect light unevenly back to the eye which produces an optically duller finish than dye inks.  Rihac pigment inks are resin encapsulated which means like the OEM inks they are much less likely to block heads then generic pigment inks.  Rihac pigment inks also have a signficantly lower swell rate (over heat and time) compared to other non OEM inks)

Sublimation Ink: Sublimation ink, also known as Dye Sublimation, is a heat transfer ink used for t-shirts, mugs and other items treated for use with sublimation inks.  These are not used for general printing and are a specialised ink.  These inks turn into a gas when heated and impregnate into the substrate of the item being heat pressed.

Rihac awards worlds most awarded aftermarket ink products

Rihac is a Melbourne based company and the world leader in continuous inking products. For the better part of a decade we have been engineering and developing ink supply units known as the Inklink or CISS for the majority of brand named printers such as Canon, Epson, Brother and HP

From humble beginnings back in 2002 we created the first Inklink CISS unit based on a gravity flow system created in the USA. Rather than using a gravity based system, Rihac developed a purpose designed and self-contained ink reservoir. This reservoir was engineered with special ‘air balanced tubes' to balance the pressure regardless of the ink level and act like a normal ink cartridge. We made the system endlessly refillable and set about using the best quality inks we could source. Since then, Rihac have established themselves as the world leaders in ink supply systems and produce products for more printers than any other similar products in the world.

With ink base products supplied from Both Cabot's (USA) and Diamond (UK) we make 100% sure that our products will never damage your print heads and will match the OEM colours. Our dye based inks are micro filtered and have a special UV absorber to maximise print life beyond generic inks. Our inks were even reviewed by choice magazine who rated them as the only aftermarket inks tested that matched original cartridge colours.

Rihac products have been the subject of many other reviews (available online) and products awards, including being a finalist for the 2011 Women's Weekly product of the year and 2012 Telstra Business Awards People's Choice Winners and MYOB small business awards Victorian Finalist. Testament to the quality and product support is the numerous online comments and customer reviews available on our website, Ebay and online.
