The Cuban Poster Gallery is delighted to offer LA HABANA LLORA DE NOCHE (Havana Cries at Night), a powerful hand-signed and numbered limited-edition screen-print that was designed in Havana in 2014.
This original poster – inspired by a Cuban song of the same name -- conveys both the joy and sadness found on Havana’s famed seafront Malecon boulevard, where so many young romances have been born under a starry tropical sky and where so many Cubans have pondered the often perilous journey across the Florida Straits to begin a new life in the United States.
This elegant poster was designed by award-winning Cuban graphic artist Darwin Fornés, whose work has been exhibited in the United States, Europe, South America, Mexico and at the Museum of Fine Arts in Havana. Only 50 copies of this bold and colorful graphic were made in the prestigious René Portocarrero Serigraph Workshop in La Habana.
