Stachys officinalis 'Hummelo' - ex 9cm (P9) Pot

Stachys ‘Hummelo’ is a clump-forming perennial, which is mainly grown for the rose-lavender flowers which appear in summer and early autumn. These flowers are held on upright spikes above the rosettes of dark green scalloped, oblong leaves. At home in formal borders or cottage garden settings. Though this plant is relatively unknown to many gardeners, it makes a unique addition to any sunny border.  Once you try it, you'll see that it goes with just about everything else in the garden.  It is very easy to grow and deserves to be planted more widely. Named after the village in the Netherlands where Piet Oudolf's influential garden is located. Highly attractive to bees and other pollinators it has also been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.

Flowers June to September.

Thrives in well drained soil in full sun but will also tolerate partial shade.

  Maximum height.spread approx. 60cm.

Plants will be supplied well rooted and ready for immediate planting out.  My plants are hard grown i.e. grown outside as soon as they have developed a strong enough root system to survive.  This makes them stronger, healthier & more weather tolerant plants than those which have been grown on rapidly in artificial conditions in a greenhouse.
